Tendai Murisa is the founder and Director of the SIVIO Institute. He is a development practitioner and researcher
who over the years has advocated for pro-poor development across Africa. Tendai has over fifteen years of
experience working across Africa and championing many causes. He started his career as a Research Fellow at
the Sam Moyo Africa Institute for Agrarian Studies. In 2009, he joined TrustAfrica as a Programme Officer and
was responsible for the Pan-African Agriculture Advocacy project. Through his excellent workmanship, Tendai
rose through the ranks to become Programme Director and eventually, the Executive Director of TrustAfrica. He is
a published author, with many journal articles and book collaborations. He completed his BSc in Political Science
and Administration at the University of Zimbabwe, a Master’s in Development Studies at Leeds University, and
went on to attain a Ph.D. in Sociology from Rhodes University.
