Chengete Chakamera

Associate Researcher

Chengete Chakamera is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Senior Lecturer at the University of Johannesburg. He is an academic, researcher, educator and consultant, with a passion for research and consultancy in the areas of transport, logistics, economic growth, infrastructure, spatial economics, international trade, volatility in stock markets, monetary policy and investments. Chengete holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of the Witwatersrand, a Master’s degree and Honours in Economics from Rhodes University, South Africa, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Economics from the University of Fort Hare, South Africa. Chengete also holds a postgraduate certificate from Vrije University Amsterdam, focusing on two major areas: Quantitative Financial Risk Management and Real Estate Management. He has published in peer-reviewed journals, and is a Principal Consultant at AREF Consult.
