Halima Mahomed is an Independent Researcher and Philanthropy Consultant with vast experience in research, advocacy, technical support, and advisory services. She is focused on strengthening the knowledge, practice and impact of philanthropy in Africa and advancing social justice philanthropy, as well as offering review and strategy advisory services to philanthropy institutions on various programmes. Halima is the chair for our Centre’s Women in African Philanthropy committee and a member of Philanthropy for Social Justice and Peace management team, on the Alliance magazine Editorial Board, and on the International Center for Not-for-profit Law (ICNL) Advisory Council. Her work focuses on strengthening the narrative, practice and impact of philanthropy in Africa. She holds a Master’s in Development Studies from the University of Witwatersrand.
